
Snap parliamentary elections to take place in Moldova on Sunday, July 11.
The ballot contains 23 electoral competitors - 20 parties, 2 electoral blocs and one independent candidate: We Build Europe at Home Party (PACE); Collective Action Party — Civic Congress; "Renato Usatîi" Electoral bloc; ȘOR Party; the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS); Electoral bloc of communists and socialists; Professional's movement "Speranta-Nadejda"; Democratic Party of Moldova; Dignity and Truth Platform Party (DA); National Unity Party (PUN); Democracy at Home Party; "Noi" Party; Party of Development and Unity of Moldova; The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR); Ecological Green Party of Moldova; Party of Law and Justice; the People Power Party; Party of Regions of Moldova; "Patriots of Moldova" Party; Party of Change; "New Historical Choice" Party; Labor Party; Independent candidate Veaceslav Valico. Citizens of Moldova will be able to vote in 2150 polling stations, of which 1959 are on the territory of Moldova and 150 - abroad, as well as 41 - on the territory of the Transnistrian region (by the decision of the Appeals Chamber - only 12, however, the decision is to be appealed). The CEC printed 3.6 million ballot papers for voting. Of these, 2.79 million copies will be distributed across 1959 polling stations within the country, of which 2.1 million are in Romanian and 0.68 million are in Russian. 123 thousand ballots were printed for the polling stations opened in Transnistria. 726.7 thousand voting ballots were transferred to foreign polling stations, of which 662.4 thousand were in Romanian and 64.1 thousand were in Russian. According to the CEC, 3.28 million citizens are registered in the State Register of Voters with the right to vote, of which 2.78 million people are registered in administrative-territorial divisions of the II level, 237.7 thousand citizens do not have registration or residence permit, including Moldovan migrants authorized outside the country, as well as 258.69 thousand citizens registered in the Transnistrian region. In order for the elections to be acknowledged as valid, at least 1/3 of the voters must take part in the voting. Monitoring of the voting process will be provided by 2,442 observers accredited by the CEC: 1,800 national observers, who represent 8 public organizations of the country, and 642 international observers. More than 125.04 million lei is needed to organize and conduct the elections, part of the funds has not yet been allocated by the government. It is worth noting that on July 10 and 11, pre-election campaigning is strictly prohibited. The fine for pre-election campaigning these days is from 15 to 30 conventional units for individuals and from 35 to 50 conventional units - for legal entities. Let us remind you that the Moldovan parliament consists of 101 MPs and is elected for a 4-year term.
