A record number of winemakers from Moldova - 50 companies - will take part in the 4th Moldovan Wine Festival in Bucharest on October 12-13
The National Office of Vine and Wine (ONVV) announced this, noting that this event, which has become a reference point for wine lovers, represents a communication platform between wine producers and consumers on the Romanian market, strategic for the export of Moldovan wines. The festival is organized by ONVV with the support of the strategic partner Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Fund (UMAEF) and the Mayor's Office of Bucharest through ARCUB - Cultural Center of Bucharest. Stefan Iamandi, Director of ONVV Moldova, noted that the number of producers from Moldova has been increasing year by year since 2019, when the first such event was held. “And this year we aim to turn Bucharest into a wine city, where tens of thousands of enthusiasts will get to know Moldovan wine and Moldovan winemaking traditions. For this edition of the festival, we have come up with a new slogan - “Our wine conquers the world”, which emphasizes the continuous evolution through which we strive to crystallize the best of Moldova and the aspiration to produce wines of exceptional quality,” the ONVV head said. According to him, 50 wine producers from Moldova will offer award-winning wines, novelties and wines of the new harvest for tasting, while the participants will be able to get acquainted with the wine products through special tickets, which can be bought online or during the event. In addition, in the zone dedicated to gastronomy, traditional and international dishes will be presented, perfectly matching the wines presented. In addition to tastings, festival-goers will be treated to an exciting artistic program full of music, entertainment and surprises. According to ONVV, the National Wine Day is the biggest holiday promoting Moldovan wine, millennial traditions of winemaking and responsible consumption of quality wine. The festival, which has already become a tradition among winemakers and vine growers, is celebrated on the first weekend of October, right after the end of the grape harvest. In recent years, the Wine Festival has also been organized in the target markets of wine exports. Earlier this fall, similar events were held in the Polish capital Warsaw, in Iasi (Romania) and the series will continue with festivals in Cluj (Romania), as well as in Japan and Canada. // 11.10.2024 - InfoMarket.
