
Over 120 thousand bottles of wine were sold during 2 days within the National Wine Day celebration on Moldova’s main square
The National Office of Vine and Wine presented such data, noting that in general, on the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau, more than 150 thousand visitors took advantage of the offers of 98 winemakers present at the celebration. In total, more than 36 thousand bottles of wine were tasted and more than 120 thousand bottles of wine were sold on the Great National Assembly Square, reflecting the interest in local wines. A total of 50,323 tastings were conducted according to the Tasters' Book, including: 18,794 white wines; 15,903 red wines; 5,938 rose wines; 8,107 sparkling wine; and 1,581 divins (cognacs). The event attracted tourists and journalists from many countries: Romania, USA, Czech Republic, Poland, Sweden, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Turkey, Italy, France, Switzerland, China, South Africa, Ireland, UK, India, Japan, a number of Caribbean islands. 250 people attended the Wine School classes, where they discovered the secrets of tasting. Also, 10 excursions were organized on the Great National Assembly Square, and more than 25 thousand tourists visited wineries from all over the country along the “Wine Routes” of Moldova.
