Moldova's customs service will receive EU assistance under the EU4Border Security – Moldova project with a budget of €4 million
According to the press service of the agency, details of the expanded technical and institutional support under the recently launched EU4Border Security – Moldova project, funded by the European Union, were discussed at a meeting between Customs Service Director Radu Vrabie and the project management team. The meeting discussed areas of potential cooperation: modernization of border crossing points, procurement of modern control equipment, improvement of IT system interoperability, and optimization of operational procedures. Project representatives noted that the list of specific actions will be based on the needs identified by the beneficiaries and will contribute to the achievement of EU integration goals in the customs area. The project aims to strengthen national structures responsible for border and migration management and provides for the harmonization of Moldovan procedures and infrastructure with Schengen and EU standards. Priorities include integrated border management, combating cross-border crime, modernizing infrastructure, and digitizing processes. The EU4Border Security – Moldova project, with a budget of €4 million, is being implemented by the Central Project Management Agency of Lithuania, the Polish Solidarity Fund, and the International Organization for Migration.
