Twelve Moldovan cities will receive emergency response equipment and machinery from the EU worth nearly 6.5 million lei

This was announced by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, noting that on November 25, municipal enterprises in Drochia, Iargara, Singerei, Criuleni, Straseni, and Cantemir received modern emergency response equipment worth nearly 2 million lei. The equipment was provided by the European Union as part of the "EU4Moldova: Resilient States, Strong Communities" project, implemented by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova. Each enterprise received a set of equipment, including dump trailers, wood chippers, and water pumps. The new equipment will help local housing and utility services respond quickly to inclement weather, heavy snowfalls, floods, waterlogging, fallen trees, or damage to infrastructure. As noted by Tomasz Horbowski, Director of Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, the employees of these enterprises have also undergone specialized training, which allows them to participate not only in recovery work but also in prevention and support for the population in emergency situations. "We are confident that this equipment will strengthen the resilience of cities and improve their ability to respond to crises," he stated. In turn, Marcia Kammitsi, Head of Programs at the EU Delegation to Moldova, emphasized the EU's commitment to small communities with limited technical resources: "Our support is focused on people and their safety. Through investments like these, we help small towns respond more effectively to climate challenges and protect lives and property," she noted. By the end of this year, six more municipal enterprises in Moldova will receive medium-power tractors (50-90 hp), necessary for rapid response in cold weather. A total of 12 municipal enterprises were selected through an open grant competition announced in March by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova. The total cost of the equipment is almost 6.5 million lei, with funding provided by the European Union through the EU4Moldova Resilient project.//25.11.2025 – InfoMarket.
