
Investments in equipping the gardening laboratory of the Ungheni Agro-Industrial College exceeded 779 thousand euros – Ministry of Agriculture.
This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, noting that, in particular, investments worth 779 thousand euros are being made in the Ungheni Agro-Industrial College within the framework of the project "Garden of Moldova" (Livada Moldovei) with the support of the Government of Moldova and the European Investment Bank. The goal of the project is to fully equip the laboratory for the repair and maintenance of gardening equipment that meets European standards. Earlier, within the framework of the Livada Moldovei project, important investments were made in the agricultural infrastructure of the college: planting 1.2 hectares of fruit trees (cherry, sweet cherry, pear, currant and blackberry), equipping it with a support system and a weather station, purchasing a tractor with agricultural machinery, as well as high-performance IT equipment. Students of the Ungheni Agro-Industrial College are trained in growing vegetables and flowers using modern European technologies. They also have access to a 320 m2 hydroponic greenhouse, where they can experiment with soilless cultivation methods and apply this knowledge in their households. The project provides expert support, facilitating the practical application of theory for both students and teachers and local economic agents. In total, the Livada Moldovei project provides for an investment of 120 million euros in the form of a loan provided to the Government of Moldova by the European Investment Bank. Of this amount, 18 million euros are intended for the modernization and equipping of 13 educational institutions, through the implementation of 15 investment projects aimed at supporting the professional training of young people in the agricultural sector.//26.05.2025 – InfoMarket.
