The €1.9 billion allocated by the EU to Moldova is a historic opportunity to accelerate reforms and create a more stable and competitive economic environment - Doina Nistor
This was stated by the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization after a meeting in Brussels with Gert Jan Koopman, Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighbourhood Policy. She discussed with him the next steps in implementing the EU-supported Growth Plan and Moldova's commitments under the Reform Agenda for 2025-2027. Doina Nistor stressed that the EU investments will be directed to key areas: infrastructure, education, healthcare, energy, digitalization, support for small and medium-sized enterprises and public administration reforms, each of which has a direct impact on the lives of citizens. Doina Nistor discussed the policy of supporting the business environment and industrial development with Maive Rute, Deputy Director-General for Industry, Internal Market, Entrepreneurship and SMEs. She noted that important strategies and programs are being implemented in Moldova: from grants for SMEs and guarantee funds to the digitalization of public services. The parties also discussed preparations for the launch of negotiations on the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products, which will open up more opportunities for Moldovan industrial products on the EU market. In the European Parliament, Doina Nistor met with the Vice-Chairs of the Committee on International Trade Karin Karlsbro and Iuliu Winkler. The Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization thanked them for their continued support for the Growth Plan and reaffirmed Moldova's commitment to the implementation of the Reform Program. "We are confident that with the continued support of the European Parliament, Moldova will remain a priority on the EU agenda," Doina Nistor emphasized. // 21.05.2025 — InfoMarket
