Moldova Ranks 126th in Global Soft Power 2025
This was reported by the Investment Agency, noting that its representatives took part in the Global Soft Power 2025 Summit in London, where they learned from world leaders and experts about the role of soft power in shaping international relations and stimulating economic growth. One of the key points discussed at the summit was the vital role of tourism. Given that over 90% of a country’s reputation as a “Great Place to Visit” directly impacts Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), talent attraction and overall economic growth, it is clear that tourism branding is a key element to focus on. It is emphasized that this year Moldova ranked 126th in the Global Soft Power Index 2025. This ranking highlights the country’s path forward in strengthening its global influence and underlines the importance of further efforts to develop cultural diplomacy, nation branding and tourism as key drivers of change. "Soft power is not something immutable, but it evolves depending on diplomatic actions, political stability and global interaction. Countries need to invest in cultural diplomacy, national branding and international relations to improve and maintain their influence around the world. The Global Soft Power Index is based on a survey of more than 170,000 respondents from over 100 countries and is the most comprehensive study providing valuable information on the ranking of countries' attractiveness for investment, trade, education and tourism," the Moldovan Investment Agency emphasized. In March last year, it was reported that Moldova entered the Global Soft Power Index 2024 for the first time and ranked 118th out of 193. In Global Soft Power 2025, it ranked 126th. According to the study, the United States remained the most influential state in the world this year, while China overtook the United Kingdom for the first time and took 2nd place. Japan retained its 4th position, Germany - 5th, France - 6th, Canada - 7th, Switzerland - 8th, Italy - 9th, UAE - 10th. Brand Finance compiles a rating of countries' "soft power" (their influence on the behavior and preferences of states, companies, communities and the public through cultural and informational influence, and not through coercion) based on a survey of over 173 thousand respondents from more than 100 countries. It includes all 193 countries that are members of the UN. Each of them is assessed on 55 indicators. The Global Soft Power Index has been calculated for the 6th year. // 21.02.2025 — InfoMarket
