Belgium will provide Moldova with a loan of 12 million euros for the project of installing BOSAQ water purification devices in 85 settlements
Parliament's press service reported this, noting that the members of the Commission for Foreign Policy and European Integration approved the launch of negotiations between the Moldovan and Belgian governments on this grant for the decentralized supply of drinking water. It is planned that after the installation of these devices in 85 Moldovan settlements, access to safe drinking water will be improved for more than 55 thousand inhabitants. BOSAQ devices are drinking water purification units with a capacity of 500 l/hour. They comply with European Union standards and provide protection against contamination, guaranteeing the safety of drinking water. The repayment term of the Belgian loan to Moldova will be 30 years, including a 10-year grace period, during which no interest will be paid. The interest rate will be 1.5%. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, 20% of the population in rural areas of Moldova and 10% of urban residents do not have access to clean drinking water. //19.02.2025 - InfoMarket
