The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) will provide Moldova with a loan of 86 million euros to build a regional hospital in Balti.

The Government approved the decision to start negotiations on signing a framework loan agreement with CEB at a meeting on Wednesday. The construction project of the Balti hospital will be implemented in 2023-2028, and the loan funds will be provided for 20 years. The CEB loan will cover only 80% of the total cost of the project, with the rest expected to come in grants. According to the project, the Balti Regional Hospital will be built on a 5 ha plot of land, located near the village of Corlăteni, Balti municipality, and the building area of the hospital will be 38,000 square meters. The hospital with 340 beds will offer quality and reliable medical services with the latest generation equipment for the residents of the Northern regions. The inhabitants of this region will not have to travel to Chisinau to get hi-tech diagnostic and therapeutic services. Let us remind that, earlier Health Minister Ala Nemerenco announced that a similar project for the construction of a regional hospital is to be implemented in the south of Moldova, in Cahul. // 05.07.2023 – InfoMarket
