The European Investment Bank will provide Moldova with an additional loan of 100 million euros for road repairs.

The press-service of the parliament has informed about it, noting that it will provide a contract of financing between Moldova and the European Investment Bank for completion and further implementation of the project "Moldova Roads III", the beginning of negotiations on which and the subsequent signing was approved by members of the commission on foreign policy and European integration. The need to grant the credit of 100 million euros arose due to increase in prices for building materials, caused by the existing regional crisis. The money will be used both to complete the works launched within the project, as well as to restore and build new national road networks, such as: the rehabilitation of the road R34 Hincesti-Leova-Cahul - Giurgiulesti, segment III, Cantemir-Cahul (km 82 - km 125); M3 Chisinau-Comrat - Giurgiulesti - border with Romania, construction of a road segment in Cimislia (km 0 - km 7). All works will be carried out based on feasibility studies demonstrating the economic efficiency of the tasks, as well as project documentation developed in accordance with regulations in this area. It should be noted that in 2013, our country signed a funding contract with the European Investment Bank, which provided for a loan of 150 million euros for the implementation of the project "Moldova Roads III". // 07.12.2022 - InfoMarket
