Moldova will receive $30 million from the United States to buy electricity and $19.5 million to strengthen energy security and reduce dependence on Russia.
USAID Moldova (U.S. Agency for International Development) announced this, noting that the U.S. is supporting Moldova in the current difficult situation in the energy market. "As part of this effort, USAID is working with the Moldovan government to adopt an amendment to the existing Development Objective Agreement (DOAG) that would allow $30 million from the U.S. budget to be used to reimburse the purchase of electricity. At the same time, the amendment will unlock $19.5 million in aid to strengthen Moldova's energy security and reduce its dependence on Russia. We look forward to signing the amendment in order to continue cooperating with Moldova to meet its energy needs," USAID Moldova said in a statement. // 02.11.2022 – InfoMarket
