Moldova will receive a grant of 25.5 million euros from Romania to implement projects in education and improve public services.
Moldovan government's press service said the decision was based on requests submitted by the Moldovan authorities and proposals made by the ministries at the Bucharest meeting of the coordinating committee for the management of the bilateral assistance agreement between Romania and Moldova. The money is a part of the 100-million-euro non-refundable financial assistance provided in the bilateral Agreement on Technical and Financial Assistance, signed on February 11 between Prime Ministers of Moldova and Romania, Natalia Gavrilita and Nicolae-Ionel Ciucă. Thus, thanks to 57 investment projects envisaged by the "European Village" project, the access to improved water supply and sanitation services will be ensured for more than 95 thousand people. At the same time, 135 general education institutions will be equipped with laboratory equipment for physics, chemistry and biology classrooms to ensure the quality of the educational process. In addition, 125 minibuses and 14 school buses specially equipped to transport children with disabilities will be purchased. The term of the agreement is 7 years from the date of its coming into force. // 17.10.2022 - InfoMarket
