
The Government of Moldova has set the quota for ethyl alcohol for pharmaceutical production and medical use in 2024 at the level of 48.35 thousand dal.
Compared to the previous year (45.57 thousand dal), it increased by about 6.1%. The volumes of ethyl alcohol approved by the Cabinet of Ministers for this year are intended for use in medical institutions and the pharmaceutical industry. In general, within the approved quota, 8 users - 7 companies and the National Blood Transfusion Center - will receive ethyl alcohol for medical purposes. At the same time, the quota of 9.77 thousand dal was approved for the winners of centralized public tenders in accordance with the needs of medical and sanitary institutions. In general, the largest quota of ethyl alcohol in 2024 was allocated to ElaDumPharma (former Farmacia Cojusna) in the amount of 28,337.5 dal (+5.45% compared to 2023), of which 4.59 thousand dal is intended for the needs of health institutions. Further, the quotas will comprise: MC Pharmaceuticals - 9.24 thousand dal (+39.11%), Eurofarmaco - more than 7.17 thousand dal (-14.98%), of which about 5.18 thousand dal for the needs of health care facilities, FluMed-Farm - 2.35 thousand. dal (+2.44%), Blood Transfusion Center - 917.5 dal (-12.42%), Farmaprim - 270.73 dal (at the same level), Medicamentum - 46.74 dal (-15.03%), Balkan Pharmaceuticals - 15 dal (+50%). The volume of allocated non-denatured ethyl alcohol is aimed at increasing the level of quality assurance of domestic medicines and monitoring the use of non-denatured ethyl alcohol in medicine in Moldova.
