
Moldova: The volume of industrial production in January-September 2021 increased by 12.9% relative to the same period in 2021.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported this, without giving data in value terms. According to the department, in September 2021 the volume of industrial production increased by 13.7% compared to the same month of the previous year. In general, in January-September 2021, relative to the same period in 2020, production volumes in the extractive industry increased by 11.9%, and in the processing industry - by 11.7%. According to the NBS, food industry enterprises for 9 months in 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, reduced overall production by 0.4%. Beverage production grew by 10.2%, textile products - by 18.6%, clothing - by 14.8%. Tanning and leather finishing; production of suitcases, bags, harness and saddlery; dressing and dyeing of fur increased by 19.4%, and woodworking and production of products from wood and cork, except for furniture; production of products from straw and other plant materials for plaiting – increased by 34%. Production of paper and paper products increased by 19.4%, while production of chemicals and chemical products decreased by 7.8%. The output of pharmaceutical products and drugs increased by 24% and rubber and plastic products - by 17.4%. In the metallurgical industry, production increased by 49.4%. The output of metal structures and products, except for machinery, equipment and installations, increased by 22.5%, and in the section "production of computers, electronic and optical products" the indicator increased by 24.3%. The production of electrical equipment increased by 13.4%, machinery and equipment - by 14.2%, and cars, trailers and semi-trailers production - decreased by 14.6%. The production of furniture almost doubled (+ 97.3%). In the section on repair, maintenance and installation of machinery and equipment, the growth was 38.7%. The growth in the production and supply of electric and thermal energy, gas, hot water was 19.9%.
