A bilateral screening meeting is taking place in Brussels as part of the negotiation process on Moldova's accession to the EU, dedicated to Chapter 1: "Free movement of goods"

According to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the parties are discussing the legal and institutional framework for standardization, metrology, accreditation and conformity assessment, as well as market surveillance. The agenda of the meeting includes many thematic blocks aimed at strengthening and harmonizing national rules and policies with EU standards: conformity assessment and technical regulation; market surveillance and product conformity; standardization; construction materials; metrology; transport legislation; machinery and other industrial products; pressure equipment; electrical and electronic equipment; EU chemical legislation (CLP), REACH, etc. The Moldovan delegation is headed by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and includes representatives of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Culture, the Legislation Harmonization Center, the Bureau for European Integration, the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Non-Food Products and Consumer Protection, and the National Accreditation Center MOLDAC.
