
Moldova to set up a state geoinformation system "Geoportal of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure".
The Government adopted the corresponding decision, having approved the concept of creation and the regulations of this system. Its owner and holder will be the Agency for Land Relations and Cadastre. The geoportal of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure will be a portal, which will be a key element of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure and will provide access to spatial data, will provide information on spatial data and network services of state organizations or third parties, as well as will provide the possibility to search, view and download spatial data from different sources, thematic geoportals. Through the metadata published on the Infrastructure Geoportal national spatial datasets will provide search and visualization of spatial datasets, enable public organizations and third parties to publish their own metadata, and include links to various spatial data services that organizations provide to the public or third parties. The Geoportal of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure will be able to be used to: discover spatial data sources, view details of all spatial data sources and access the information, view discovered spatial data via network services, download spatial data via network services directly from the producer, create, download and manage metadata for spatial data created by public organizations and third parties producing and storing spatial data. The Geoportal of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure is intended to promote the national spatial data infrastructure and to inform public organizations and third parties about the most relevant news, guidelines and regulations related to the implementation of the national spatial data infrastructure. The Geoportal of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure will be open to any user who can use search tools and browse existing spatial data search results. In the state budget for 2023, 200 thousand lei was envisaged for the creation and development of the above-named Geoportal within the budget of the Agency for Land Relations and Cadastre. At the same time, the budgetary forecast for the medium-term period (2024-2026), approved by the government, stipulates that 200 thousand lei are planned for the same purposes for the respective years. // 07.09.2023 – InfoMarket
