The airspace of Moldova will be closed for civil aircrafts from 00:00, June 1, to 07:00, June 2.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, this is one of the measures that will be taken in the context of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Chisinau. The exception to this measure is service aircrafts. At the same time, civilian unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) are forbidden to fly from 00:00, May 31, to 07:00, June 2. Also, starting from May 15, a parking lot near Chisinau airport will be in special regime until May 25 - parking of cars on lower floors will be forbidden, and the upper floor will be available for parking. From May 25 to June 2 (07:00), entrance to the airport parking will be prohibited. Parking will also be prohibited in the city for a period of time in the protected space designated for the EPC Summit. Citizens will soon be informed of alternative routes and parking options. The police have urged the citizens to plan in advance the routes of their movements on May 31, June 1 and 2, to choose the roads adjacent to the airport and avoid main arteries in the capital, as well as the movement on the Chisinau-Bulboaca highway at certain time intervals. Also, in the context of preparation for the Summit, the Border Police will increase control and surveillance in all areas of its competence. The number of officers and special devices for control of travel documents will be increased. In addition, the number of police officers in public places in Chisinau will be increased to optimize traffic and increase patrolling, because many visitors are expected in the capital city and nearby settlements. Citizens are advised to carry identification documents in case they are checked by law enforcement officers. // 05.05.2023 – InfoMarket
