
Moldovan Government has set the quota of ethyl alcohol for pharmaceutical production and use in medicine at 45.57 thousand decaliters (dal) in 2023.
Compared to the previous year (38.17 thousand dal), it has increased by about 19.4%. The ethanol volumes approved by the Cabinet for this year are intended for use in medical institutions and the pharmaceutical industry. In general, eight users - seven companies and the National Blood Transfusion Center - will receive ethanol for medical purposes within the approved quota. At the same time, a quota of 10.36 thousand dal was approved for the winners of the centralized public tenders in accordance with the needs of health facilities. All in all, the largest ethanol quota in 2023 was granted to ElaDumPharma (former Farmacia Cojusna) in the amount of 26.87 thousand dal (+10.52% compared to 2021), 3.91 thousand dal of which were intended for the needs of health-care institutions. The quota for Eurofarmaco will amount to about 8.44 thousand dal (+302.23%), of which 6.44 thousand dal are for the needs of healthcare institutions; the quota for MC Pharmaceuticals will amount to 6.64 thousand dal (-26.27%), FluMed-Farm - 2.29 thousand dal (+66.2%), Blood Transfusion Center - 1.05 thousand dal, Farmaprim - 0.27 thousand dal, Medicamentum - 0.05 thousand dal, Balkan Pharmaceuticals - 0.01 thousand dal (-33.33%). The volume of allocated non-denatured ethyl alcohol is aimed at increasing the level of quality assurance of domestic medicinal products and monitoring the use of non-denatured ethyl alcohol in medicine in Moldova. The normative need for ethyl alcohol for domestic pharmaceutical companies includes the consumption of alcohol per unit of production, calculated on the basis of raw materials consumption rates. // 01.03.2023 - InfoMarket
