The Customs Service (CS) has introduced a new procedure for the automatic registration of economic agents.

According to the CS, the new procedure allows simplifying the procedures of interaction between customs and business through the use of information technologies and paperless document flow. The benefits of the new procedure were presented at a meeting held the day before on the platform of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, with the participation of executives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Customs Service, EU High-Level Adviser Rosario de Blasio and representatives of more than 50 companies and business associations. The meeting focused on simplifying the procedure of mandatory registration of economic agents in the CS, documentation for customs clearance procedures, electronic declaration for free economic zones and Giurgiulesti Port, provisions of the new Customs Code and the Regulation on its application. The Finance Ministry's head, Veronica Sireteanu, said that the transparency, de-bureaucratization and digitalization of the processes is a priority of the government, focused on the common benefit both for the business environment and the authorities. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba stressed the importance of digitization and modernization of customs procedures in the context of development of inclusive, sustainable and digital economy in Moldova. He noted that harmonization of customs procedures with those of the EU will bring many benefits to the business environment, while standardization of the regulatory framework will increase Moldova's investment attractiveness, and such steps will make it possible to demonopolize exports and enable more companies to take advantage of DCFTA opportunities. Customs Service Director Igor Talmazan spoke about the benefits of automated registration of economic agents. It speeds up customs administration procedures, saves time and money for economic agents, grants independence from territorial customs offices, and expands opportunities to use authorization documents in electronic format. // 01.03.2023 - InfoMarket
