The Emergency Situations Commission has approved a number of measures to optimize traffic on the Moldovan-Romanian border.
According to the Commission's decision, the Customs Service and the General Inspectorate of Border Police will work at the Moldovan-Romanian border checkpoints located on the Romanian territory. Both agencies will use all the necessary techniques and equipment, including mobile scanners, to implement their competencies. The Customs Service and the General Inspectorate of Border Police are to coordinate with their Romanian colleagues the rules of interaction and control, which will be subsequently approved by the parties. Employees of both Moldovan services will not be considered seconded abroad while performing controls on the Romanian side of the border. The Customs Service is empowered to take measures to manage the movement of vehicles through customs posts, while the Border Police will issue an internal administrative act to simplify controls at crossing the state border, but, if possible, will apply the normative acts of Moldova when exercising control on the Romanian side of the border. There is a simplified procurement regime for both agencies working at the border. Transports travelling under TIR carnets will provide the Customs Service with pre-registration in the electronic system TIR-EPD before the cargo arrives to the state border crossing points. Thus, according to the Commission's decision, starting from June 15, control of goods at the Moldovan-Romanian border in the pilot regime will be realized at Romanian checkpoints. These measures are the result of a working meeting between the Moldovan and Romanian premiers, held last week in Bucharest, and of subsequent technical meetings between representatives of the competent bodies of the two states. // 15.06.2022 - InfoMarket
