A special commission has been created in the Parliament of Moldova to study the effectiveness of regulation in the oil products sector
The need to create this special commission stems from the evolution of prices for petroleum products over the recent period, as well as from the recommendations of the Supreme Security Council of May 27. It is planned that the special commission will involve responsible government agencies in its work, hear the parties and persons involved in the decision-making process on the effectiveness of regulation in the oil products sector, and submit a report to parliament on its activities within a month. Initially, it was assumed that the special commission would include 7 people, but representatives of the bloc of communists and socialists and the Sor party refused to delegate their representatives to its composition. As a result, the commission will include 4 PAS deputies: chairman - Radu Marian, secretary - Dorian Istrati, members - Ion Spac and Ersilia Qatrawi. Dumitru Alaiba, Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Economy, Budget and Finance, noted earlier that if in January 2021 the average retail price of AI-95 gasoline was 16.32 lei per liter, then by December 2021 it increased by 23.3% - up to 20.13 lei. The situation is similar for diesel fuel, the average retail price of which increased by 26.6% - from 13.52 lei per liter in January 2021 to 17.12 lei per liter in December 2021. The situation worsened even more in 2022, and the maximum retail price of gasoline as of June 1 was 31.45 lei per liter, and diesel fuel - 27.61 lei per liter. In other words, Ai-95 gasoline has risen in price by 56.2% since the beginning of the year, and diesel fuel - by 61.3%.// 02.06.2022 — InfoMarket
