
The government approved the National Child Protection Program for 2022-2026, its implementation will require about 143.6 million lei.
The program is aimed at eliminating priority problems related to the protection of the child and family, it is a continuation of the previous similar program. The new program and action plan for its implementation are focused on achieving the main goals: strengthening the child protection system, preventing violence against children, creating conditions for the life and upbringing of children in the family, with an increase in household welfare indicators, reducing the poverty level of families with children, reducing the number children at risk. The action plan for the implementation of the program includes 72 actions, for each of them monitoring indicators, an assessment of the timing and costs of implementation, and responsible institutions are determined. In particular, within the framework of the program it is planned to create an automated information system in the field of child protection; provide training for specialists in the field of protection of the rights and interests of the child; implement corporate social responsibility programs for children among economic agents; introduce a moratorium on the placement of children in boarding schools, especially those under the age of 3; reorganize all institutions of the residential type (boarding schools, children's homes, special schools, etc.); create conditions for the reintegration of families; open a rehabilitation and treatment center for children who use alcohol, drugs and other illegal substances; promote free help for children through the Child Helpline; to develop programs of services for the care of children under 3 years of age (social crèches); introduce a mechanism for financing from the state budget of providers of parent training programs and services, etc. The total cost of the Program is estimated at 143.6 million lei, of which 82.48 million lei will be covered from the state budget, 61.19 million lei - by development partners and international organizations (USAID, Council of Europe, CCF Moldova, Terre des hommes, etc.). // 01.06.2022 — InfoMarket
