The Cabinet of Ministers approved the draft law on electronic identification and trust services.
The law will regulate new services related to electronic signatures, which are not currently in national legislation: electronic identification, electronic timestamps, security certificates for websites, electronic seals. Digital printing can be used on electronic documents by legal entities and can be issued for use in automated information systems. The document also establishes the legal framework for electronic signatures and contains provisions regarding the activities of a trusted service provider, the application for public key certification, the duration of a public key certificate, its suspension and revocation. It is noted that the new provisions are designed to bring national legislation in the field of electronic signatures in line with European standards. The Cabinet also drew attention to the fact that the creation between Moldova and the European Union of a single mechanism for the functioning of public key certification services will contribute to the development of international cooperation in the field of electronic commerce.// 30.03.2022 — InfoMarket
