Moldova is actively negotiating with the EU to remove all quotas for the export of Moldovan products, especially agricultural products.
Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita stated that there is progress in this matter at the level of representatives of the European Commission, but the decision itself must be approved by the EU countries. Gavrilita also said that the Moldovan government is actively involved in the diversification of imports and exports, given the loss of the traditional markets due to the war in Ukraine. To this end, the government has taken a number of measures, such as freeing the imports from the EU of food products and essential goods with European certificates from the national certification procedure, as well as redirecting the trade from the Ukrainian port of Odessa to the Romanian port of Constanta. The removal of trade restrictions is being discussed with international partners, and discussions are underway to diversify markets. "In particular, we offered to sign the free trade agreement with Egypt to open the market of this country for Moldovan agricultural products. We are negotiating with other countries as well," the head of the government said. // 24.03.2022 - InfoMarket.
