
The Ministry of Agriculture of Moldova will propose to the government of the country measures and policies in connection with the suspension by Ukraine of the supply of a number of its products.
The Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita gave the relevant instruction to the sectoral department at a government meeting on Wednesday. In particular, she instructed the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry to analyze the impact on the food security of Moldova of all decisions taken by Ukraine to suspend the export of some of its products, and provide the Cabinet with information and relevant policies, recommendations within 2 weeks for their adoption by the government. It should be noted that against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, the government of a neighboring country suspended the export of a number of products. According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, a zero export quota is introduced for live cattle, frozen meat, rye, oats, buckwheat, millet, sugar and edible salt.
