An Advisory Council for Moldova’s ecological transition and energy security has been established in the country.
The corresponding decree on the establishment of the Council was signed by the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu. She wrote on her social media page that energy security is an important element in Moldova’s security and means safe access to quality energy resources at reasonable prices. “For three decades now, our authorities have not been concerned about energy security. On the contrary, the monopoly situation was used to create corruption schemes. We need to start all over again, invest in serious projects that will provide us with alternatives in the supply of energy, in energy efficiency projects that will allow us consuming less and pay less for energy. And, most importantly, we must use natural resources rationally and reduce environmental pollution,” the head of state said. According to her, the established Advisory Council on Ecological Transition and Energy Security is a platform that will coordinate policy and monitor the implementation of projects of national interest in this area. “We will feel the results of these projects in five to six years, so it is important to move forward without delay,” emphasized Maia Sandu. // 13.12.2021 - InfoMarket
