Moldovan government approved the distribution and redistribution of part of the appropriations provided for by the Law on the State Budget to ensure the payment of wages in the budgetary sphere.

In particular, from the budgetary allocations (170 million lei) envisaged for the payment of salaries in the public sector, 134.2 million lei are directed to local budgets to pay salaries to employees of the education system until the end of 2021. The funds proposed for allocation are primarily intended for institutions of primary, secondary and high school education, which are funded at standard cost per student in accordance with government regulation. In this regard, a temporary derogation from the general rule was proposed, which would allow the budgets of educational institutions to be supplemented with appropriations in specific amounts, calculated on the basis of necessary expenditures at the level of each institution. The bill approved by the Cabinet also stipulates that the savings received by the authorities on measures related to the organization of summer vacations for children and adolescents, Olympiads and final exams should be used in the same way to cover the shortage of staff costs. The project also provides for the redistribution of allocations totaling 9.8 million lei from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development to the Ministry of Economy, as well as 700 thousand lei from the State Chancellery to the Ministry of Health in order to stimulate health workers. // 04.11.2021 – InfoMarket
