Moldova has been granted the right to export cucumbers and onions to Israel – ANSA
The National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) has informed Moldovan producers and exporters of Israel's official approval to import cucumbers and onions from our country.
The decision was adopted after ANSA confirmed Moldova's favorable phytosanitary status and the appropriate level of sanitary and phytosanitary protection against risks to public health. To export cucumbers and onions from Moldova to Israel, producers must comply with a number of phytosanitary requirements. In particular, cucumbers and onions must be produced in Moldova and must not contain harmful organisms or quarantine pests. Each consignment must be visually inspected before export and declared free from pests. The inspection must be carried out in accordance with international standard ISPM 31, and the sample size must ensure a detection level of 0.5% with a confidence level of 95%. Exported consignments must be accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate containing a special Additional Declaration in accordance with Israeli requirements. The Israeli importer must obtain a valid import permit, which must include the special requirements and wording used in the Additional Declaration of the Phytosanitary Certificate. ANSA reported that it highly appreciates the constructive cooperation with the phytosanitary authorities of Israel and encourages Moldovan producers and exporters to take advantage of this important opportunity to promote local products on the Israeli market. // 05.07.2025 — InfoMarket
