Moldovan winemakers can apply for the WESA grant program until August 5

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry reminded that in a few days the deadline for accepting applications for participation in the WESA grant program “Promotion and Export of Moldovan Wine”, which is financed by the Ukraine-Moldova American Enterprise Foundation (UMAEF), ends. The WESA grant program provides 15 wineries with 8 million lei (total budget) to increase sales of Moldovan wines in international markets, especially in non-traditional markets such as Romania, Poland, UK, Netherlands, Denmark, South Korea, Japan and Canada. Thus, small producers will be able to receive grants from 300 thousand to 800 thousand lei, while the size of their own contribution differs depending on the category of producer. The program will be implemented for 12 months, during which time it is expected to increase the marketing budgets of companies by 60% and export volumes by 15-20%. Applications from the company are accepted by email: wesa@antrim.md. In 2023, the volume of exports of Moldovan wine products to foreign markets reached 123 million liters, with a total value of $192 million. This result confirms Moldova’s status as the 16th largest wine exporter in the world with a significant presence in approximately 70 countries.// 01.08.2024 — InfoMarket
