Two batches of children's toys imported to Moldova last fall were destroyed
As the Customs Service reported, in October last year, 2 companies imported 1.3 thousand and, respectively, 841 thousand units of toys. The goods were without accompanying documents, and the importers submitted a declaration, taking upon themselves the responsibility to independently conduct a conformity assessment on the territory of Moldova. But they were unable to obtain the certificate due to the inability to provide additional documents for certification, so they decided to destroy these batches of potentially dangerous toys. The Customs Service and the State Inspectorate for the Supervision of Non-Food Products and Consumer Protection reminded that toys are subject to mandatory certification, and every citizen has the right to ask for data on the conformity assessment of toys. It is also reported that as part of the cooperation plan, the departments are using a joint control mechanism to verify the conformity and safety of toys. // 30.07.2024 – InfoMarket.
