Moldova's exports of table grapes in 2023 increased in value terms by about 33% - up to $75.67 million year-on-year
The Ministry of Agriculture reported this, referring to the data of the Customs Service of Moldova and noting that in physical terms, supplies abroad of this product increased by 11% - up to 84.55 thousand tons. State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry Andrian Digolian emphasized that the excellent results of 2023 give confidence that Moldovan winegrowers can reach or even surpass these indicators this year. He said that it is crucial to continue supporting the farmers and investing in technologies and sustainable agricultural practices, so that Moldova remains on an upward trajectory on the world market of table grapes. Andrian Digolian visited the farm of the winegrower Iurie Bivol, where the last table grapes of the Cardinal variety, known for its ultra-early ripening period, are harvested. The harvest reaches 30-35 tons per hectare; the grapes have excellent taste and quality. These table grapes are intended for export to Romania and Ukraine, continuing the tradition of supplying high quality products to international markets. The Agriculture and Food Ministry reminds that, through the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA), it supports winegrowers by subsidizing the planting of table grapes within the Gable and Pergola plantations by allocating 300 thousand lei per beneficiary. // 29.07.2024 – InfoMarket
