
Exports of Moldovan goods to Russia in January-March 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, decreased by 35.4% - to $29.8 million.
As the InfoMarket agency was informed by the National Bureau of Statistics, at the same time, supplies of Russian products to Moldova for 3 months of 2024, in comparison with the same period of the previous year, decreased by 60.7% - to $58.6 million. Herewith, the share of the Russian Federation in the total volume of Moldovan exports decreased over the specified period from 4.3% to 3.23%, and in imports – from 6.47% to 2.72%. Based on the results of January-March 2024, Russia took 8th place in the list of Moldova’s largest partners in terms of volumes of purchases of Moldovan products (after Romania, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Poland) in value terms. Meanwhile, the Russian Federation took 9th place in terms of volumes of product supplies to the Republic of Moldova after Ukraine, Romania, China, Turkey, Germany, Italy, Poland and France. Negative trade balance of Moldova with the Russian Federation for 3 months in 2024 amounted to $28.8 million, decreasing by 3.6 times compared to the same period in 2023 ($103.2 million).
