
The volume of Moldovan exports to Romania in January-March 2024 amounted to $289.5 million, decreasing by 17.7% compared to the same period in 2023.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the share of supplies of domestic goods to Romania in the total volume of Moldovan exports decreased during the specified period from 32.84% to 31.41%. At the same time, the volume of imports from Romania for 3 months of 2024, compared to the same period of the previous year, decreased by 11% - to $323.9 million, and its share in total Moldovan imports decreased from 15.78% to 15.04%. As a result, the negative trade balance between Moldova and Romania in January-March 2024 amounted to $34.4 million, exceeding the figures for the same period last year by 2.9 times. Romania based on the results of 3 months in 2024 was Moldova's largest trading partner in terms of exports, purchasing the most Moldovan products in the specified period in monetary terms.
