
Imports to Moldova in January-August 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 33.8%, amounting to $5 billion 891.7 million.
As InfoMarket was informed at the National Bureau of Statistics, at the same time, traditionally, most goods were imported into the country by road - 76.8% of the total. Sea transport accounted for 7.4% of total imports, rail transport - 4.8%, air transport - 1.6%, self-propelled imports - 0.6%, postal items - 0.1%, and the share of fixed transport installations (gas pipelines, power grids) - 8.7% of total imports. In particular, the volume of imports to Moldova of products from EU countries for 8 months of 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, increased by 32.6% - up to $2 billion 717.7 million, from the CIS countries - increased by 42.2% - up to $1 billion 494.2 million. The import of goods from other states increased by 29% - up to $ 1 billion 679.8 million. The share of EU countries in the total volume of Moldovan imports decreased from 46.55% to 46.13%, the share of CIS countries increased from 23.87% to 25.36%, and the share of other states decreased from 29.58% to 28.51%. The TOP countries that accounted for the largest volumes of Moldovan imports in January-August 2022 included: Romania (16.8% of total imports), Russia (13.6%), China (10.1%), Ukraine (9.7%), Turkey (6.9%), Germany (6.5%), Italy (5.1%), Poland (3.3%), India (2.9%), France (2.2%), Hungary (2%), USA, Czech Republic and Bulgaria (1.5% each), Spain and Belarus (1.2% each), the Netherlands (1%), Austria (0.9%), Great Britain, Japan and Greece (0.8% each), South Korea (0.7%), Belgium and Slovakia (0.6% each). Herewith, according to the NBS, for 8 months of 2022, compared to the same period in 2021, imports to Moldova increased from Romania (by 1.8 times), Russia ((+49.2%), Ukraine (+40.6%), India (by 5.9 times), Turkey (+30.2%), China (+16.2%), Hungary (+46.9%), Bulgaria (+50.3%), Poland (+17.3%), Germany (+8.1%), Greece (2.2 times), USA (+30.4%), France (+12.9%), Czech Republic (+17%), Netherlands (+23.5%), Spain (+15.6%), Slovakia (+34.9%), Azerbaijan (9 times), South Korea (+25.3%), Israel (2 times), Turkmenistan (2 times), Serbia (+33.8%), Italy (+2.1%), Great Britain (+13.8%), Sweden (+25.6%), Finland (+45.2%). Meanwhile,volumes of imports to Moldova decreased from Belarus (-15.4%), Austria (-17.6%), Argentina (-63%), Vietnam (-16.9%). In the structure of imports for January-August 2022 significant shares were occupied by the following groups of goods: oil, oil products and related products (16%), gas and industrial products derived from gas (8.7%), electrical machinery and equipment and their parts (6.2%), motor vehicles (5.8%); yarn, fabrics, textiles and related products (3.8%), specialized machines and devices for specific industries (3.7%); medicinal and pharmaceutical products (3.2%); industrial machines and apparatus for general purposes; parts and spare parts for these machines (2.8%); processed metal products (2.3%); vegetables and fruits (2.2%); iron and steel (2.1%), clothing and accessories (2.1%). // 17.10.2022 — InfoMarket
