
Moldovan exports to Romania in the first quarter of 2022 totaled $337.2 million, up 1.8 times from the same period in 2021.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the share of supplies of domestic goods to Romania in the total volume of Moldovan exports during the mentioned period increased from 26.74% to 31.73%. At the same time, the volume of imports from Romania in 3 months of 2022 relative to the previous year increased by 44.8% - up to $274.2 million, and its share in the total Moldovan import increased from 12.21% to 13.46%. As a result, the positive trade balance of Moldova with Romania in January-March 2022 amounted to $63 million against a negative balance of $6.2 million in the same period last year. In January-March 2022, Romania was Moldova's largest trade partner by exports, purchasing the most Moldovan products during that period.
