
Moldova’s trade deficit in January-November 2021 reached $3 billion 600.1 million, up 38.5% (+$1 billion 000.3 million) compared to the same period in 2020.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported that, in particular, in November 2021, the trade deficit of Moldova reached $337 million, which is $43.4 million (14.8%) more than the previous month, as well as $76.1 million (29.2%) higher than in November of the previous year. In general, for 11 months in 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, the trade deficit of Moldova with the EU countries increased 1.6 times - up to $1 billion 128.4 million, with the CIS countries - increased by 48% - up to $1 billion 247, 2 million, and with other states - increased by 18.2% - up to $1 billion 224.4 million. According to the NBS, the largest trade deficit of Moldova in January-November 2021 was in trade with China, which amounted to $731.9 million (+30.1% compared to the same period in 2020).
