Bilateral screening meetings with the European Commission on agriculture and rural development, food safety, fisheries and aquaculture will start on June 2-3 – Ministry of Agriculture
As noted by the Ministry, it is in the final stage of preparation for these meetings with the European Commission. The screening findings will serve as the basis for subsequent stages of negotiations on Moldova's accession to the European Union, including determining the transition periods necessary for adaptation, consultations with the relevant specialized associations, starting from June 2025. Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture is holding mock meetings on discussions with the European Commission on 3 chapters, which are coordinated by the agricultural ministry: Chapter 11 - Agriculture and rural development, Chapter 12 - Food safety, sanitary and phytosanitary policy, Chapter 13 - Fisheries and aquaculture. These areas represent the most important pillars in the negotiation process for Moldova's accession to the European Union. The assessments are carried out in cooperation with many state institutions under the coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture. Once Moldova becomes a member of the EU, it will automatically join the Common Agricultural Policy, one of the most important instruments for supporting farmers and rural communities in the EU. // 20.05.2025 — InfoMarket
