The EU will provide Moldova with a grant to co-finance 3 veterinary programs for 2025-2027 with a total value of 4.1 million euros
The National Agency for Food Safety (ANSA) reported this, noting that the EU will provide technical and financial assistance to Moldova to improve its capacity for diagnostics, surveillance and control of animal diseases. In particular, on February 11, a grant agreement was signed between the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) and ANSA to co-finance 3 veterinary programs for 2025-2027, with a total value of 4.1 million euros. As it is mentioned, in this way, the EU supports ANSA in enhancing the national capacity for surveillance, control and eradication of rabies, avian influenza and African swine fever. These programs are important for Moldovan citizens given the need to protect animal health, ensure food safety, and promote trade. In particular, animal disease control is important to prevent the spread of animal diseases and protect livestock; healthy animals provide safe food for human consumption; and an effective animal disease control system allows Moldova to export animal products to the EU and other countries. Some animal diseases can be transmitted to humans, so it is important to control them to protect public health. //13.02.2025 - InfoMarket.
