Agricultural chambers will be created in Moldova based on the Austrian model, which will allow solving many problems in the industry – the Ministry of Agriculture.
This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea during a meeting of the leadership of the agricultural department and representatives of agricultural associations, an event that precedes consultations in the territories on the organization and operation of agricultural chambers. During the meeting, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture presented a draft law on agricultural chambers, emphasizing their need to solve numerous problems in the agricultural sector, especially for micro, small and medium-sized producers. Vladimir Bolea emphasized that the introduction of agricultural chambers in Moldova will be based on solid European experience, following the Austrian model. “This model has demonstrated effectiveness and sustainability in supporting agriculture, providing a clear framework to support farmers. Chambers of Agriculture are being created for farmers,” said Vladimir Bolea, emphasizing the important role that these structures will play in supporting farmers. The new chambers of agriculture will allow these organizations to receive subsidies and, in the context of the EU accession process, funds that will enable them to develop their businesses. The head of the Ministry of Agriculture emphasized that by adopting the Austrian model, Moldova will be able to provide an effective structure adapted to local needs, supporting farmers in a concrete and structured way. During the discussions, the parties raised various problems, and farmers asked for additional explanations and arguments regarding the work and advantages of chambers of agriculture. Vladimir Bolea noted that these chambers will work closely with scientific institutes and reflect the real needs of farmers; they will receive the necessary advice from the Center for Consulting in the Field of Agriculture and Rural Areas. An important point of the discussions was to identify solutions to strengthen the agricultural sector through chambers of agriculture, highlighting their role and the benefits they offer. The interlocutors also discussed the interaction of chambers and professional associations, the provision of consulting services and the need for financial support for these chambers from the state to ensure their effective operation. As noted by the Ministry of Agriculture, this meeting was the first step in the process of consultation and organization of chambers of agriculture with the aim of supporting the sustainable development of the agricultural sector and responding to the needs of farmers throughout the country by adopting the successful European model and adapting it to local realities. // 18.06.2024 - InfoMarket.
