Moldova has started accepting applications from landowners for a new, 3rd competition to receive advance subsidies to improve soil quality.

In particular, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture announced the start of accepting applications for advance subsidies for investment projects related to land reclamation, improvement of soil quality and soil protection. Applications are accepted until July 19. Applicants will be able to receive government support for the following measures: preventing and combating soil erosion; chemical soil improvement; maintaining and increasing soil fertility. It should be noted that state support amounts to 80% of the cost of an eligible project and cannot exceed 800 thousand lei. Payment will be made in two parts: Tranche I – 70% of the subsidy amount, which will be paid subject to the provision of evidence of co-financing by the beneficiary in a proportion of at least 20% of the cost of the investment project; Tranche II - 30% of the subsidy amount, will be provided on the basis of an application for payment after the investment object is put into operation and supporting documents are provided.
