The Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Bolea, who was present at the event, said that the APD Moldova project will certainly contribute to aligning national agricultural policies with EU policies and strengthening institutional capacity in the agri-food sector. The minister also said that the project will help improve the quality, quantity and competitiveness of Moldovan agricultural products on the EU market, as well as increase the economic sustainability of enterprises in the agri-food sector of our country. The representative of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Dieter Goertz, spoke about additional measures to support Moldova from Germany. “The LAVES project provides tailored support from the German Food Safety Authority to help strengthen the capacity of the National Food Safety Agency and implement the comprehensive requirements of Chapter 12 (Food Safety) of the EU Acquis,” said the German official. APD Moldova project team leader Hans Kordik provided detailed information on activities ranging from support to the selection process, mentoring group, policy notes, monitoring activities to the campaign to raise awareness of the EU Common Agricultural Policy through lectures at the Technical University of Moldova. In turn, German Ambassador to Moldova Maria Uebber expressed the German government’s readiness to support Moldova in implementing the necessary reforms, including in the field of agriculture. APD Moldova is a 3-year technical assistance project funded by the German government whose mission is to support the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry and Moldovan institutions implementing agricultural policies in the process of accession to the European Union.
