In the first month of 2024, AIPA transferred subsidies worth 252 million lei to farmers’ accounts, compared to 92 million lei in January 2023.

This was reported by the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture, noting that, thus, the efficiency of its work has significantly increased. The distribution of funds from the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Development in January 2024 is as follows: 45.52 million lei – post-investment subsidies; 1.63 million lei – advance subsidies; 5.84 million lei – for the implementation of the LEADER program; 149.52 million lei – on requests for additional subsidies; 30.4 million lei – direct payments in the livestock sector; 19.69 million lei – National Fund of Grapes and Wine. The Agriculture and Rural Environment Subsidy Fund amounts to 1.6 billion lei this year. AIPA also noted that it has begun accepting applications for subsidies for additional measures in agriculture this year: stimulating access to investment loans or working capital; stimulation of advertising activities; promoting the use of irrigation systems; development of ecological agriculture; introduction of advanced agricultural practices; cutting down perennial plantings; advisory and training services in agriculture; stimulating associations in producer groups; subsidizing insurance premiums in agriculture. Subsidies can be applied for by farmers, agricultural producer groups, irrigation water user associations, professional agricultural organizations, research and innovation organizations, and agribusiness educational institutions. Under this form of subsidy, expenses are recognized as eligible starting from October 1 of the year preceding the filing of the application for a subsidy, as well as in the year of filing the application for a subsidy. The annual limit is up to 1.5 million lei per recipient, with the exception of associations of irrigation water users, for which the ceiling does not exceed 3 million lei. Documents must be submitted by September 30 to the AIPA territorial offices in the jurisdiction where the applicant will make investments.// 02.02.2024 — InfoMarket
