Moldova has started accepting applications from landowners for a new competition to receive advance subsidies for soil improvement.

Moldova has started accepting applications from landowners for a new competition to receive advance subsidies for soil improvement.

In particular, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry announced the beginning of applications for advance subsidies for investment projects related to land reclamation, soil quality improvement and protection. Applications will be accepted until March 15. Applicants will be able to receive state support for the following measures: prevention and control of soil erosion; chemical improvement of soil; preservation and improvement of soil fertility. The application for an advance subsidy is submitted by the applicant to the territorial unit of the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture, after which it is sent to the National Agency for Land Reclamation for evaluation and approval. The launch of the competition aims to incentivize investment projects for land improvement, promotion of sustainable practices and effective soil management.
