AIPA, as of January 22, approved 878 applications from farmers to receive subsidies worth about 155 million lei - Ministry of Agriculture.

This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, noting that the Agricultural Intervention and Payment Agency (AIPA) treats all farmers responsibly and does not accumulate debts to them. At the same time, when issuing subsidy permits, the principle of “first come, first served” is strictly observed. As of January 1, 2024, AIPA has received 6,572 applications for 5 forms of subsidies (advance, post-investment, additional, phased, direct payments for the livestock sector). As of January 22, AIPA has approved 878 applications for farmers to receive subsidies amounting to approximately 155 million lei. The Ministry of Agriculture drew attention to the fact that giving priority to some measures to the detriment of others, in violation of the principle of “first come, first served”, is discrimination against farmers. As noted, the Ministry of Agriculture and AIPA will not deviate from the principle of fairness in providing financial support out of respect for all farmers in the country. The agricultural department called on farmers, if they have questions about the processes and principles of operation of some measures, to contact directly employees of the Ministry of Agriculture or AIPA, or visit the website: www.aipa.gov.md. The Ministry of Agriculture also once again recalled that it had requested from the government 50 million lei from the Reserve Fund for an additional measure of support for certain categories of affected farmers. This measure covers farmers affected by the 2023 drought when growing corn, as well as farmers in the north who suffered significant damage after their land was damaged by hail and storms on July 25 and 26, 2023. All farmers have damage assessment documents. The Ministry of Agriculture is currently preparing a draft government resolution to implement this measure. // 22.01.2024 — InfoMarket.
