17 fruit producers and exporters from Moldova are participating in one of the largest international exhibitions Fruit Logistica 2024.

This exhibition dedicated to the fresh fruit and vegetable industry is held from February 7 to 9 in Berlin. According to the Agriculture Ministry, Moldovan fruit producers are promoting apples, plums, cherries and apricots on their stand at this exhibition. At the exhibition, Moldova attracted participants' attention with a unique networking event called "Taste Without Borders", which gathered major fruit importers, representatives of supermarkets and journalists. The event, which was attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea, the Executive Director of the Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters Moldova Fruct Iurie Fala and the Ambassador of Moldova to Germany Aureliu Ciocoi, emphasized Moldova's significant progress in diversifying fresh fruit exports and developing international cooperation, highlighting the country's high export potential and the advantages of partnership with it. Vladimir Bolea said that fruits from Moldova are a symbol of quality and proof of commitment to sustainable and responsible agricultural practices, while the free trade regimes with the European Union, the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and other countries represent business opportunities that cannot be ignored. 17 Moldovan fruit producers and exporters are participating in Fruit Logistica 2024 with support from the Investment Agency, USAID's Moldova Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Activity, and Western NIS Enterprise Fund. Moldova Fruct Association has been participating in Fruit Logistica since 2012. Thus, thanks to the promotion of Moldovan fruits at prestigious international exhibitions and the good reputation gained over time, Moldova has expanded its fruit exports to 42 countries. With each participation Moldovan exporters strengthen their positions on the international market and attract new partners and business opportunities. As Iurie Fala noted, the stand "Moldova - Special Taste" at the Fruit Logistica 2024 exhibition was in the center of importers' attention, thanks to Moldova's record success in 2023, when 78 thousand tons of plums were exported (3rd place in the world), 77 thousand of grapes, and sales of cherries in the EU increased 12.5 times. The export of Moldovan apples to European countries is also growing: the first shipments to Sweden and the UK have been made, and their presence in Romania is actively expanding. "Such destinations as Asian and Middle East markets have already become traditional for Moldovan apple exporters, and their share has been gradually increasing over the last 5 years," emphasized the head of Moldova Fruct Association. // 09.02.2024 - InfoMarket
