
In 2021, Moldova exported 120.7 million liters of wine, which is 11.7% less than in 2020.
These data were presented by Elizaveta Breahna, interim director of the National Office for Vine and Wine (ONVV), during the National Wine Industry Conference "Wine Year 2021". At the same time, in terms of value, wine exports in 2021 amounted to 2 billion 990.4 million lei, which is 9.9% more than in 2020. At the same time, exports of bottled wines increased in volume by 5.4% - to 51.2 million liters, and in value terms - by 20.6% - to 2 billion 091.8 million lei. At the same time, 69.6 million liters was exported in bulk in 2021, which is 21.1% less than in 2020, while in value terms, wine exports in bulk fell by 8.9% - to 898.6 million lei. In addition, in 2021, Moldovan producers exported 2.4 million liters (+8.5% compared to 2020) of liqueurs totaling 107.2 million lei, which is 37.3% more than in 2020. Divines and brandies were exported in a volume of 4.4 million liters (+27.2%) worth 487.6 million lei (+18.3%). A total of 71 countries were importers of Moldovan wines in 2021. About 105 producers exported their wines. According to ONVV, 83% of the wine produced in 2021 was exported. The top 3 importers of bottled wine from Moldova in 2021 were: Romania - 428.4 million lei (+29.2% to 2020), Russia - 295.1 million lei (+54.5%), Poland - 176.1 million lei (+8.6%). At the same time, in 2021 imports of foreign wine in Moldova increased by 150.5% by volume (volume in liters is not reported) and by 68.3% in monetary terms (amount is not specified). As it was noted, the activities of ONVV will continue to focus on identifying new export opportunities, sustainable development of the sector and increasing the visibility of the national brand Wine of Moldova.
