The budget of the Fund for subsidizing Agricultural and Rural Development will be increased from 1.1 billion lei in 2021 to 1.75 billion lei in 2022.

The Cabinet approved amendments to its decree on the distribution of funds from the National Fund for Agricultural and Rural Development. In particular, in order to encourage cooperation among agricultural producers, it was approved the increase from 50 to 75% the subsidy for investments made by production groups and entrepreneurial cooperatives in the development of post-harvest and processing infrastructure. Thus, the maximum amount of subsidies will increase from 5 million to 7 million lei per year. For the first time, the livestock sector will be granted increased subsidies. The matter concerns those who breed cattle, sheep and goats: for them subsidies will be increased from 50 to 70% of the cost of investment. Wine producers will also benefit from increased subsidies for the installation of auxiliary systems and the establishment of wine grape varieties plantations. For the first time, the government will subsidize the establishment of perennial plantations only with varieties included in EU catalogs, will also compensate 50% (but no more than 2,000 lei per hectare) of the cost of domestically produced legume seeds and will increase the state subsidy to 20% for investments of young people returning to the country and choosing to engage in cattle breeding, agro-processing, etc. In the context of energy dependency substitution and climate change adaptation, the maximum amount of subsidy was increased from 800 thousand to 1.5 million lei per beneficiary for machines, equipment and installations for renewable energy production (solar and photovoltaic panels, wind installations, biogas installations). In order to promote and develop organic farming in Moldova, a new measure is proposed for the practical implementation of the use of nitrogen-fixing crops and green manure (green fertilizers) to maintain and improve soil fertility. In this regard, there will be compensation payments totaling 2500 lei per hectare. In addition, the changes in the process of subsidies distribution include other adjustments to facilitate the development of related industries: food, pharmaceutical, perfumes and cosmetics, etc. The full text of the document will be available on the government website - gov.md. // 04.04.2022 - InfoMarket
