200 million lei will be allocated to partially compensate farmers for the costs of excise duty on diesel fuel.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry submitted for public consultations a draft government decree on approving the procedure for allocating funds from the National Fund for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas to partially compensate for the excise tax on diesel fuel used by farmers in 2022. According to the project, it is planned to compensate 30% of the established excise rate for diesel fuel, or 894 lei per ton (full excise rate - 2980 lei per ton). For these purposes, 200 million lei will be allocated from the fund, which will be distributed through the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture. All categories of agricultural producers - micro-, small, medium and large, working both in the field of crop production and animal husbandry, will receive the right to reimbursement of expenses. Compensations will be distributed based on the average consumption of diesel fuel required per 1 hectare of cultivated area, and based on the number of animals. The maximum amount of compensation per beneficiary will be 100 thousand lei. Compensation can be provided to officially registered agro-enterprises / peasant farms that legally own agricultural land, livestock or other farmland. Compensation is allocated only on the condition that diesel fuel is used for agricultural work. Consultations on the project are held until April 11: https://cutt.ly/vFtjyuF. // 06.04.2022 — InfoMarket
