The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has announced a new grant competition.

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) has announced a new grant competition.

According to the organization, this is a competition for grants to finance projects on adaptation of agricultural production systems to climate change. IFAD will provide for registered enterprises / individuals 70% of the invested investments / agricultural technologies, but not more than $5 thousand per 1 beneficiary; and for cooperatives - 50% of the cost of investment / agricultural technology, but not more than $15 thousand per grant applicant. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, applicants can only submit applications electronically until January 18, 2021. To be eligible for a grant, applicants must meet a number of criteria: be registered enterprises in any legal form or registered individuals (farms or individual enterprises) engaged in agricultural activities or processing of agricultural products in rural areas of Moldova, with the exception of units operating in Chisinau and Balti. Enterprises registered in Chisinau and Balti, but with branches or agricultural activities in rural areas, will be considered eligible.
